8/28/2023 0 Comments Sketch brush paint tool sai 2![]() ![]() For the longest time I've preferred working in Paint Tool Sai for drawing, and once I started using Sai v2 it became my main program for pixel art too. No dithering brushes and it wasn't possible to make them by fiddling with the settings. The brush set is primarily categorized into three types, namely, Dark, Walt, and Grainy. Blotmap Set VIII is a set of unique blot-style brushes that are designed by DA user K-OG. ![]() ![]() For a while I just made the textures and just copy pasted them as I needed, but lately I wanted to see if it was possible to make dither brushes using the texures. Blotmap Set VIII Best for Unique Artwork If you are looking for brushes to give a new flavor to your artwork, this is a really good place to start. Turns out you can! I made brushes of the 22 32 textures I regularly use when making my own tilesets and am sharing them here for others to use too. SAI comes with a full set of transformation tools that can work on. Two of the folders have instructions on how to install the textures for the two versions of Sai, and the remaining folder has the textures. There is also a selection brush tool, which can be customized like the drawing brush. There will be more textures added to this set either as they're suggested or as I add onto what I already use. IMPORTANT NOTE: To use the textures they have to be used with the regular brush in Sai, meaning that while the texture can be made crisp the edge of the brush still sadly has some fading to it. The brushes aren't meant to be used as a slap on and done tool. It's more to have the pattern cover a large area then to go back and smooth it out as need be. ![]()
